Any person belonging to the Public Health System of Cantabria is considered a user of the Library.
Access will not be provided to people who are not linked to the said System, regardless of their condition.
The Library or competent superior entities reserve the right to sign Agreements or Arrangements with related entities that do not belong to the Public Health System of Cantabria, always in accordance with the Law.
Our user database is that of the Cantabrian Health Service. Considerations:
First, if the user is linked to the SCS, he/she will not have to apply for registration as a user. To access the Library, the same username and password will be used as for any other SCS application.
Second, for people not linked to the SCS but linked to the Public Health System of Cantabria, a request should be addressed to the librarian providing the following information:
- Name and surname.
- Corporate e-mail address.
- Corporate telephone (optional).
- Center (Department of Health, FMV, IDIVAL, Others /specify/).
- Relationship with the Public Health System of Cantabria (Researcher, Grant Holder, Others /specify/).
- Scanned copy of ID card.
In this case the keys will be sent by return mail within a maximum period of one week.
Remote access enabled.
If you do not remember the passwords, please contact directly the HUMV Computer Service.
The Library's Catalog or OPAC brings together the A/Z of journals, electronic books (also available in Clinical Key), personalized access to PUBMED (with direct download of subscribed contents), access to the main payment tools (UpToDate, Clinical Key, Fisterra, Ovid, NNNConsult, WoS, Cuiden Plus, Transplant Library, etc.) and the interlibrary loan form with automatic completion of fields by simply entering the PMID of the article.
The physical headquarters has two rooms: the Salón Noble and the Training Room, the latter equipped with 16 seats with their corresponding computers, plus the teacher's computer.
Following the HUMV room reservation protocol, the interested party must send the form duly completed (print, fill in, scan and send) to the following e-mail address: bib001@humv.es, indicating "Room reservation" in the subject. Confirmation of the reservation by return mail.
Both the protocol and the HUMV room reservation form are available on the Hospital's intranet.

The Document Retrieval Service (SOD) or Interlibrary Loan Service allows to get the document that the user needs and the Library does not have.
The old logic was to have all the libraries have everything. It was an unsustainable logic. Today we know that the best thing is to have everything between all of them, and to share it. This service is therefore a basic form of cooperation between libraries. This does not prevent it from being paid: the library that serves (university library, hospital library, etc.) charges for it and the user who requests it pays, in our case.
However, thanks to the active policy of cooperation developed by the Marquesa de Pelayo Library, most requests are resolved at zero cost. In fact, they can be considered free by default, unless otherwise informed. This is not because it is easy, on the contrary, we work hard to achieve this. If payment is unavoidable, the Library will notify the interested party before formalizing the request, which may then be cancelled. The cost of each request does not usually exceed four euros, which, we remind you, must be paid by the user at the time of delivery of the document.
To make requests, please go to the "Catalog" section. But first make sure that the document you are requesting is not actually in the Marquesa de Pelayo Library: check in particular the A/Z. Finally, try not to make more than five requests per day so as not to slow down the service.
